Who they are

The Housing Finance Information Network (HOFINET) is a quality-assured web portal that consolidates regularly updated international housing finance knowledge in one central, easily accessible place.

Housing market and housing finance information is scattered across agencies in most countries and is not comparable across countries. Lack of comparative information, including laws and regulations, programs and policies, makes it difficult for countries to learn from each other’s experiences and hinders sound decision-making for the housing sector.

The HOFINET portal has three interconnected information channels:

• A THEME CHANNEL that provides information on housing finance and the macro-economy, retail housing finance, funding housing finance, and housing finance policy
• A COUNTRY CHANNEL that provides detailed, consolidated, and standardized housing sector and housing finance information by country, including statistical and qualitative data, data regulations, laws and country documents
• A RESEARCH CENTER that allows cross-country, cross-variable, and time series analyses of country data
